The Quetico Reworks

2014

During the summer of 2014, I went on a Camp Ahmek (The Taylor Statten Camps) canoe trip and experienced 37 days inside and around Quetico Provincial Park. On that trip I took two disposable cameras strictly for photos that will be used for post-image editing. I wanted to do this art project to experience Quetico on an artistic level, and see how the trip would affect my art style.

These are the finished products of the trip. Quetico was a special time in my life, I had the chance to get lost in pure thought, a saying I said on the trip frequently was "we get to let the world hurry by while we live in paradise," and that's what I believe that I was trying to accomplish with these photos, this pure, pleasing paradise like feeling, and I hope they encapsulate that for you the viewer.
